Asalamalikum Everyone,
So much has been going on. I will soon be moving, so feeling many different ways. I am happy I have started this group and have made the effort. About this website sometimes I wonder about the effect and hope it is all not in vain. For now at least I am gaining from it. As I speak through it sometimes I am talking to humanity and myself and sometimes to friends who attend the meetings. I will miss you all as my heart has grown with you. I am overwhelmed at life sometimes- so many different lives going on, so many different feelings and paths etched out. How friends happen to meet and create bonds is glorious and mysterious . I have learned something from all of you and I am thankful to God for that. I remind myself to give people chances and excuses often. If you have patience you will probably find their intentions are good and if you are more patient and a little kind you might find a treasure. One of my friends I will call MH has taught me to have patience with life's challenges not by preaching but through laughter. She has given me inspiration to be a better wife because she is always dutifully cooking her husband delicious lunches. She is honest with herself and others. She has the best manners and helps all of her friends with a sincere heart. Someone else who has touched me is B.S. She gave me encouragement and always made me feel like whatever way I went with this project, I had her support. She is very loyal to old friends and open minded to new. She speaks frankly and does not beat around the bush. A.B.S. has taught me to give compliments freely, let others know what you mean to them and remind them of their strengths. O.M has taught me that life brings about many unexpected changes and to have patience. F.H. reminds me what an honor it is to have a mom and reciprocate some of what she has given. She inspires me to be a better daughter and a mother because of the bond she has with her precious mother. S.A. came along to remind me to have patience with people. She makes me think of a tree when you see it you would never believe it came from such a small and seemingly fragile seed. But when you look back at the seed it is hard to believe that a tree was inside all along. F.H. I don't even need to hear her speak and I feel her wisdom, patience, understanding and love. She has taught me and all of us as a universal mother, teacher and friend. Through her actions I am inspired and given hope. She demonstrates such sincere love for God and his prophet and shows us that only by obeying God and continually striving to please him, will you truly be happy. I am very grateful to all of you and will end by sharing this ...
On Time
Kahlil Gibran
You would
measure time the measureless and the immeasurable.
You would adjust your
conduct and even direct the course of your spirit according to hours and
seasons.
Of time you would make a stream upon whose bank you would sit and
watch its flowing.
Yet the
timeless in you is aware of life's timelessness,
And knows that yesterday is
but today's memory and tomorrow is today's dream.
And that that which sings
and contemplates in you is still dwelling within the bounds of that first moment
which scattered the stars into space.
Who among you does not feel that his
power to love is boundless?
And yet who does not
feel that very love, though boundless, encompassed within the centre of his
being, and moving not from love thought to love thought, nor from love deeds to
other love deeds?
And is not time even as love is, undivided and
spaceless?
But if in your thought you must measure time into seasons,
let each season encircle all the other seasons,
And let today embrace the
past with remembrance and the future with longing.
