Peaceful Gathering
We had a cozy gathering today with a few new honored guests from Sudan. We discussed future plans like the Arabic classes that will be held for the first time this Wednesday at 6-730 at Robert Down Elementary School in the Resource room of the school. The class will have at least 2 teachers and is open to all- Muslim/non Muslim, girls/boys, men and women. Please come and learn a beautiful language. The resource room is on the lower level of the school and has a separate entrance than that of the main. We also discussed the Omar series many have seen which portrays life in the time of our beloved prophet through the eyes of hadrat Omar. Zeineb made a very moving comment about how it is said that each of the stars is like one of the sahaba and which ever one you follow enshahAllah will bring you to heaven. She said each of us is a bit different and might find common ground with a specific sahaba. We talked about Hind and how strong the mercy of Allah Almighty is in that her fate found her to be Muslim. Our thinking and judgment often times falls too short when we don't trust in Allah for any and everything possible. Towards the end of our meeting we had a little fun with a Islamic quiz competition. It was basically a tie and I hope everyone learned something. Thanks for the wonderful lentil soup, the shawerma and rice, the chocolate peanut butter and the wonderfully delicious medjoul dates. Thank you all for contributing and being there.
